Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account information: your email address and a hashed password, and your account settings.
• Stream and destination configuration: the streams, scenes, shows and destinations you set up, including the platforms and ingest servers you send video to.
• Stream keys: the keys you enter for each destination. They are stored encrypted and used only to send your stream where you told us to.
• Connected platform accounts: when you connect Twitch, YouTube, Kick or another platform, we receive your account name and ID on that platform and OAuth access tokens with the permissions you approved. Tokens are stored encrypted and are never shown in the app or written to logs.
• Live chat messages: while one of your streams is live, we read the chat on the platforms you connected (messages, the sender’s name and badges, and events such as subscriptions or raids) so you can read, reply to and moderate them in one place.
• Instagram session: if you upload an Instagram browser session for automatic Go Live, we store it encrypted and use it only to start and stop your Instagram live streams.
• Push notification token: if you allow notifications in the IRLStream iOS app, your phone’s push token is held by our push provider, OneSignal, together with your IRLStream account ID, so alerts can reach your devices. We do not store device tokens ourselves.
• “Get notified” sign-ups: email addresses submitted to “get notified” on our website are used only to announce availability.
• Logs and metrics: technical data such as IP addresses, request logs, stream health (bitrate, connection state) and device status from IRLStream boxes, used to run, secure and troubleshoot the service.

Why we use it

• To provide the service: relay your stream to your destinations, show your chat, post replies and carry out moderation actions you request.
• To keep accounts and the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
• To send you notifications and alerts you set up, and to answer support requests.

We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell it.

AI moderation

If you turn on the AI moderator for live chat, chat messages (with a small amount of recent context and your channel guidelines) may be sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to be classified, for example as spam or harassment. The result is a suggestion or an action under the rules you choose. Messages are sent under Anthropic’s commercial API terms, which govern how Anthropic handles that data, including model training. You can turn the AI moderator off at any time; when it is off, no chat messages are sent to Anthropic.

How long we keep it

• Chat history: kept for 30 days after the stream ends, then deleted. You can delete it sooner.
• Connected accounts: when you disconnect a platform, we delete its tokens and revoke them with the platform where the platform allows it.
• Account data and configuration: kept while your account is open and deleted when you delete your account.
• Logs and metrics: kept for a limited time for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated.

Who we share it with

• Platforms you connect: we send your stream, replies and moderation actions to the platforms you chose, under their own terms and privacy policies.
• Infrastructure providers that host and deliver the service for us (servers, networking, email delivery), only as needed to run it.
• Anthropic, for AI moderation, only when you turn it on (see above).
• OneSignal, our processor for iOS push notifications: it holds your phone’s push token with your account ID and receives the title and text of each alert we send to your devices, under OneSignal’s privacy policy.
• When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.

We do not sell your personal information.

YouTube

IRLStream uses YouTube API Services when you connect a YouTube account, to read and moderate your live chat and post replies as you. By connecting YouTube you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google’s handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

You can disconnect YouTube in IRLStream under Settings → Connected accounts, or revoke IRLStream’s access at any time from your Google account’s security settings: security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. When access is revoked or disconnected, we delete the stored YouTube tokens.

Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), encrypt stream keys, platform tokens and uploaded sessions at rest, and limit access to production systems. No service is perfectly secure; if you believe your account is at risk, contact us right away.

Your choices and rights

• Access and export: you can ask for a copy of your data, and export chat history while it is retained.
• Push notifications: you choose which alerts are sent in the app’s alert settings, and whether your phone shows them with the iOS notification permission (Settings → Notifications → IRLStream). Signing out of the app or deleting your account removes the link between your phone and your account at OneSignal.
• Correction: you can change your settings and configuration in the app.
• Deletion: you can disconnect platforms, delete chat history and delete your account (see Data deletion).

Children

IRLStream is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, let you know in the app or by email.
